configuring MT841 Huawei Modem in Windows7 and WindowsVista

The modem is provided by bsnl dataone.broadband modem.now it is difficult to configure it in windows 7 and windows vista.

The best way is connect the modem through the Local Area Network Cable(LAN),just connect the LAN wire to the modem and connect it to your Laptop port or PC port and Surf enjoy!! :-)

If it doesn't work then you have change your modem.

After you have connected through LAN,you will be able to see a connection in the taskbar either "No Internet access" Or "No Network Access" Or like "Internet access" and "Network Access"

Now go to Mozilla firefox or your default browser and type: 192.168.1.1   a pop up message will ask for username and password
username will be like admin
password : admin

or 12345

 after entering your password,you will get a screen like this

now choose WLAN from the options

give a name for SSID say BSNL
 choose channel =1
module = high rate
wep method =wep

wep key1=choose a key starting with number
64 bit hex
and choose apply

save all
now your modem restarts and it is ready
select the wireless network and choose your ssid (bsnl here in this case) and type your 10 digit key number
and then you're done!:-)
